Laboratory Technician

Your mission
The Movement and Cognition Laboratory Technician ensures that all lab operations and data collection and testing activities run smoothly. They manage and maintain lab equipment to ensure it is working properly, calibrated, and regularly updated. They support the medical and data science teams in running experiments and processing data for the development of digital biomarkers of motor and cognitive function.

Position duties and obligations (responsibilities and requirements):
  • Device management, calibration and testing

  • Design of experiments based on requirements from the Medical and Data Science team

  • Recruit participants and run experiments with volunteers

  • Ensure that Good Laboratory Practices are followed and documented

  • Validate the quality of collected data using Python scripts

  • Contribute to the company data Verification and Validation software processes

  • Contribute to the development of new tests for the assessment of motor and cognitive functions by testing different versions

Your profile
  • Relevant University degree (e.g. biomedical engineering, computer science, movement science, or similar)
  • Needed skills or mandatory training:
  • Knowledge of wearable systems for human movement analysis
  • Knowledge of signal processing techniques
  • Ability to program in Python, with special focus on scripting for data validation
  • Attention to details and procedures
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with participants in the experiments
  • Previous experience in running experiments with human participants
  • Previous experience with managing laboratory devices
  • Understanding of participant privacy and confidentiality
  • Previous experience with data cleaning and management
  • Ability to communicate with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Ability to communicate in English and Spanish
